That's the right attitude, but there are a couple flaws. It's true that priests are well-trained in theology and stuff, but keep in mind--there is only one man who can infallibly state Catholic doctrine...the Pope. That does not mean he's perfect either. Oh the misconceptions of so many Protestants. But when he publicly teaches or proclaims doctrine, he is correct. End of story.

I generally don't like high up people telling me what to believe, hence why I am athiest.Another reason being that some beliefs religions have seem too mediocre for me to even consider it as history.By this I refer to events like Noahs Ark, feeding the thousands of people with little food, parting the sea, God in general.

Don't get me wrong, I respect all religious believers, but I am of the opinion that the holy books are more to teach moral lessons than to record actual events.

As I've said, I'm Christian.
But,
It kills me when people take it overboard, and argue about who's religion is better.
To be honest, there isn't a better. It's YOUR beliefs. Just because it's yours doesn't make it better.

ALSO: I don't care if you aren't Christian, MERRY CHRISTMAS is fine. Just because our country accepts all religions, doesn't mean the PREDOMINANT RELIGION should have to say HAPPY HOLIDAYS so YOU will be HAPPY.

Is there a group of people who just sit around, trying to find something to complain about?

Probably.I think the main source of all this friction is that some people just can't accept someone elses opinion.And it's these people that all too often are listened to.

Well, i'm Lds. so i don't agree with some of the things you guys are saying. i mean, i totally accpet and respect your opinions, but i don't believe that the pope knows anything to be honest. in my opinion he lost contact with most of what god has to say a while ago. I believe that God, Jesus, and the holy ghost are three different people. And no, i don't worship joseph smith in any way.

Wow, LDS! I never thought someone from an LDS background would be on a forum like this. I've got several LDS buddies, and well its just odd to me. Strange religion, but I respect it.

I personally would rather belive in Pagan gods of Egypt, Greece, Rome, Babylon, Celts, and what ever other ancient civilizations can be thought of. I can respect any current modern religion, just don't force your belifes on me.

I just don't understand why a single god would be so insecure, unlike the several pagan gods who control just one thing, and fight with each other.
