Which one do you think is better, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare or Call of Duty: World at War?

Personally, I would pick Call of Duty 4 just because I like the modern theme a little bit better than the WWII one.

Call of Duty 4 may have been better than W@W, but CoD will always belong to WW2.

Maybe, but I don't like WWII games as much as modern ones, but that's just me.

I think modern combat is more exciting then WWII. Even if we don't have massive forces storming beaches in modern warfare.

Their is a couple reasons why I prefer COD 4:

-Modern weapons are more fun to use.

-I don't have to worry about tanks.

-Maps are better. Designed better and I enjoy the urban middle east setting rather then destroyed gray cities in Berlin.

I picked WaW, I just have always loved the WWII theme for COD. Very Happy

Wow, you actually described my feelings about both the games to a tee!

I think that WW2 produces the most balance and diversity in weaponry compared to all time frames (WW1, Modern, Lasers)

The bad thing is that:
1: It gets old
2: They are misinterpreted. Example for WaW. The Thompson fires a stronger .45 than the MP40's 9mm, yet the game has the MP40 do more damage. The M1 Garand has almost twice the muzzle velocity than the M1 Carbine, yet in game they both have similar ranges.

CoD:4 offers a good chance with modern combat, but the game is just dominantly automatics, no matter how you look at it.

True, I hate how the weapons were made in W@W, they just don't seem to be as balanced as MW.

I'm a fan of the Modern theme so I would have to choose MW over W@W. I like both games but when it comes to the gameplay, I like modern guns and maps better.
