Will the US stay Democratic

At the rate everything is going concerning our economy and government we may end up a Socialist Nation... I for one hope this is unture and never happens. If it does, our way of life will be forever changed. Alot of rights will taken away from us. Will Democracy cease to exist in the near future in the United States?

Maybe it won't.If it will,then a Full Republic may it be.

That is what I have heard. The government is putting policies forward that could take away some of our rights in order to preserve the economy. I don't like it.

bleach.... you do know that if anything communism is the best thing out there if everyone would work towards it. everyone would be rich and not many would have many economic problems. its just those people that "beat" the system by not working, and they still make money. so if every one consistantly worked it would be a near perfect society.

ON TOPIC: i think it will change to republic if the economy doesnt pick up in the next 4 or 5 years.

If you actually think the US will turn Communist, then you must have just fallen out of the turnip truck. Our entire history is laced with capitalism. After all that Cold-War crap, the thousands of lives lost to combating Communism, the US will never turn Communist. Until the entire economy crashes, enough so that were eating and rapeing each other in the streets, maybe ill believe the US will change. Until then, no, it will never happen.

If Obama starts lining up republicans and other politicans that are his rivals and having them shot then we will known when we have hit dicatorship/communism, right now we are most likely gonna go socialist which is communism in disguise.

No, I don't see us becoming a Socialist or a Communist Nation.

Like Ocelot said, our country's entire history is threaded with Capitalist plans.
If that were to happen, which it won't, people would leave the country A.S.A.P.

I do think the economy will pick up by the end of 2010, though.

Personally, I never believe we'll be a fully communist/socialist nation. Now, that's not to say we haven't begin to adopt the lifestyle. I mean, look around you. Our second ammendment is being stripped away piece by piece, large mega-companies rule rather than small businesses like we were founded on(which is combatting our free enterprise), the government is excersizing too much control and oversteppinfg its bounds, poverty is widespread, and the traditional American values such as honesty and integrity are becoming rarer than crude oil. And if any ask, I'm not 100% republican, I lean to the right, but I also see the good in the left. I'm a mix, I believe what I see as best for the USA. Because I'm an American first.

Hmmm...I know what you are saying griff but True america died a long time ago. America now is a power hungry, money lusting, oil craving, powerhouse on the edge of complete doom. Heck religion, faith, and idea are replaced with fact, science, and one answer questions. Do you know what the revoluution had to have started as? An idea, a dream, a goal. When you are surrounded with nothing but fact, science, and human logic then the imagination and thinking of new things is ruined and gone. Yes you could argue that science can create these things but science will never have the power to motivate people like religion does. You see the imagination, idea, dream, and belief will always be more powerful and successful than any fact, logic, or scientific equation. America though is going down a path of technology, science, and power; all are things that destroy orginality and individual thinking. How can you call individual thinking or government when everything is about the want of all the people? Everyone wants something different, it is impossible to get everyone to agree on government but in my opinion government doesn't need to change. It needs to die. No I'm not talking anarchy, but government is the problem. The thing is this one huge paradox, without government then their is no control and life is chaos. My conclusion in the end is that life cannot be perfect, never. Life will always be like this, full of doubt and madness. So to explain this, there is never only one answer. This leads me back to science and fact. Most if not all science and fact believe that there is only one answer to most things. This is the flaw of logic, math, and fact; no answer can be truely correct. Look into some philosophy if you do not understand. Heck, for all I know the hands I am using to type this do not exist and this message is non-existant. For all we know are brain could be telling us that we are breathing, or that we are sitting. Questioning everything is the basis of philosophying. Questioning logic, fact, and science leads to many things. Denial, you are labeled as wrong. Ridicule, you are laughed at and called a fool. Containment, you are placed in the loony house and considered a danger to yourself and everyone around you. I say question these things and ignore fact. You can never truely know the truth, it is all about faith and belief in what you believe. I believe that global warming is false, I believe that evolution is false, I believe that government is false, I believe that the world was created in 6 days and God rested on the 7th, I believe that when I die I will be up in heaven. I say these things in public, at school, or in science class and I am ridiculed, called, a fool, labeled as wrong, and considered a madman. This is why so much of life is flawed becuase so many fail to open their minds to new ideas, old ideas, or the ideas of others. Why is it looked down upon by most adults when another adult does something like play DnD, Larp, or think of fantasy stories? Because it isn't fact, it isn't true, it isn't science. This is why I hate science and logic and why I believe it is flawed. Believe what you want, I believe america is dead and cannot be brought back through any known means. Why? Because humanity is flawed.

Whoever has the guts to proclaim such a seemingly ridiculous religion in this amoral, anti-religion, evolutionist world is all right in my book. I'm a Catholic and I take the chance whenever I can to do something for Catholicism.

But Obama is ruining it all. Catholic hospitals are being forced to commit abortion, which is against all our doctrine. Pharmacists are being forced to issue pills to cause abortion. Soon, I bet Catholic churches are going to close and our jerk of a President is going to turn this into a dictatorship. It's going to happen. So much for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I'm not Catholic but I disagree with abortion and completely agree. I think I also might have ranted a bit too much in my last post...

Like I said, government is the problem. Spending is huge in all governments and america probably does it the most, but it has always been like that.

Yeah, we are a nation built on consumerism.

I've actually been worried about this. Our president seems to be Socialist and he scares me. lol I think I even saw on the news not too long ago an interview of a communist in USA saying "Obama has done a great job fulfilling the agenda." I've never felt so unsafe and ashamed of my country before. The man's a good speaker but he's no good as a president. I have yet to see him do something productive and not destructive. All he's done is spend, spend, spend. But why does that not surprise me lol?

-Bishops are going to close down all Catholic hospitals which make up almost 25% of all hospitals in the US if he passes this abortion act which forces all hospitals to give out abortion pills.
-There is currently a bill made that if passed by senate, all american youth will be forced into a mandatory volunteer group. In which, who knows what they'll brainwash us with.
-The Catholic Church has already been attacked. Democrats tried to change part of the church so that the Bishops have less authority. They're trying to silence our moral influence. If they succeeded in that, every religion could be at stake.

All the debt he's making. . all the corruption. . who knows what he'll do to this country. America has already changed greatly for the worse just in the last couple of months

Ah, but on the contrary, one form of democratic (or other) government is necessary in order to prevent complete anarchy. I view the subject in the manner such as an Enlightenment philosophe would. It's a balance. Also, if we don't keep feeding these mega-companies cash, they'll go down and take everything around them down too. A sinkhole effect. But if we do, it'll only prolonging the inevitable. So either way, without a real solution, we're at an impass. Screwed either way. Watching your country go down the tubes is fun, ain't it?
