How to be a Great Admin and Moderator.

These will be rules on how to be an Admin. I am thoroughly mad at the current events, and I wish to improve the skills of some Admins.

First off, when you make a site, you have to choose what type of an Admin you will be.

Will you make everything organized, and well done, but whatever the Members order you to do, you will not listen?

Or will you listen to whatever the Members tell you to do?

Personally, I am an expert with the second style.

Let me explain the styles:

Style 1: You make sure your site is healthy. You make sure that Members will not experience favoritism. You make sure your site is well out of events that happen in other sites.

Style 2: You listen to what Members tell you to do. When two members are caught doing something wrong, you listen to the Members, who will tell you who to ban. When one Member asks you to do something, but the others do not, you are free to mess around with the Member. You can edit his posts, his signature, and avatar. But when the other Members see this as an act of wrong doing, you are in trouble.

Style 2 has no rules, Style 1 does, let me explain the rules of Style 1.

Rule 1: You do not hold Grudges. I had to tell 2 Moderators here that they have Grudges. You do not ban someone just because he is someone you do not like.

Rule 2: You do not bring situations from one place to another. Because of many mishaps in other Sites, Moderators decided to bring those situations to here and TWT, and thus, both sites suffer.

Rule 3: You do not hold Favoritism. I go against the VCP and Forum Veteran rank, because I feel bad to see a Mere Member look up to me for advice or something else. This is why I gave up my Forum Veteran and VCP status. I also gave up the Soul Protector status, because I am not to be considered an Elite, and I don't think anyone else should.

Rule 4: You follow the rules that you make for Members. Otherwise, you will be known as a bad Administrator who does not follow his own rules.

Rule 5: You do not flame members, even if they do something wrong. Here, I saw a Moderator flaming a member for posting Homosexual Porn all over this site. Whatever he does, all that you do is ban him, nothing else. No insults, no threats.

Rule 6: You fight back against Members who test your status. An Admin here cowers and runs when I come up to him and tell him to stop doing some things that I am not happy with.

Rule 7: If two members are fighting, you ban both of them, even the one Member that you support in the fight. An Admin is supposed to be a referee, not a fighter.

SS, every moderator and admin are their own "class" or "style," but I do agree with you on what shouldn't take place.

I honestly can't appreciate a good moderator who would allow something to happen because it is "funny" or the "current fad." Breaking the rule is still breaking the rule.
It was annoying to see everyone with their own Vmag avatars at Pandemic, when the rules clearly state that you can not imitate authority figures. But let's throw that out the window because it's funny.

Well, Canterbury, Moderators are their own style, but I listed the main Styles that Admins use.

You insult Members on Pandemic, I don't like that. Goro told me you insulted him.

I didn't insult him. I said he clearly had no intention of stopping swearing, but was just merely caught out.

I'm pretty sure i've never directly insulted anyone on Pandemic. Mind you, i do alot of things i don't remember.

I am not boasting, I am just saying that they Respond well enough to my PMs, don't know why they don't respond to you.

While I agree on much of the stuff said there SS, I must disagree with one thing.

The Soul Protectors are not made to be looked up to or to be set apart from the normal members. They are made to help the forums grow and gain better status. They should be responsible and not brag about their title carelessly to members. Members and those of that group are exactly the same, but the ones in the group are just being recognized as good members who have helped the staff and care for the forums.

Really, if you think about it everyone should help the forums, but many don't and wish to not take on any responsibility here. That is not a bad thing either though, as I am that way at Pandy. Those who are not of the Soul Protectors are just members who join to have fun with others and wish to not go through the trouble of recruitment or advertisement.

But the Soul Protectors are now ridiculous. You have to be accepted by a Moderator or Admin to get in the group. I mean, if you would want to help a site, shouldn't you be allowed to enter the group yourself? But instead, a Moderator has to accept you.

Sometimes people join only to get that rank or title. I am only excepting those who ACTUALLY want to help the forums.

Ok ok, but then, why would anyone want that rank? It's not valuable, it only makes you think that you are helping the site. So, I don't think it should be a Closed Group.

And that is why it is now on the new EAK. It was my mistake making it open here.

People who spammed Pandemic did the same thing to be a Pandemonious or Pandemite.

They were worthless ranks. Yet people saw fit that it was a title they wanted.

Heh. Honestly, some people thought those held enough of a value that they had to put it on their signatures.

ex. Pandemite on 1/1/09!!!!!!!!!!!
